Wednesday, 3 March. This is the term when builders are expected to return with their machinery to the building site. "According to the weather forecast there should not be any long frost. It was not possible to start building earlier", supervisor´s representative Miroslav Hájek informed.
However, the planned Christmas break which became 2 months longer because of unfavourable weather did not endanger the deadline of the pedestrian zone second stage completing. The work is quite in advance.

During the winter break the matters of the future artefact were analysed. The nine meters high Gate of Time by sculptor Marian Karel from Prague will be situated at the division line of the pedestrian zone and King George Square. "The supplier should be chosen until 15 March, at the moment technical matters are being solved," Hájek said.
For example, mechanical system is being discussed, as the Gate of Time will rotate around it axis, re-routing of power is necessary to negotiate, and also professionals in field of statics will express their opinion to the artefact linking to the time axis.
"As for the inscriptions, the font will have to be narrower compared to original plans, which means that it will have to be cut in another way," Karel foreshadowed adding that he agrees with project changing due to technological possibilities, however, he would not like to change some of his conceptions. "We cannot avoid compromises. The architects from A69 studio are courageous and I am satisfied so far," Karel added.
