LED effects world first release in our pedestrian zone!

Citizens of Cheb and visitors are the witnesses of LED band effect light operation  as Czech first release and first in the world to use in public area! There are 14 four meter high panels situated in the direction towards Evropská Street being not only lamps in the new part of Svobody Street besides three large public lights. They offer media art  products in the vertical bands vith various scenes (fish, bubbles, sparkles etc) to please the passants, as well as abstractions, some ways of town advertising text discovering, light object motion through the street etc.

„As early as when we planned the pedestrian zone some years ago (the reconstruction idea came into being before the year 2000) atypical lights were considered. We wanted them to look like interior lights and the pedestrian zone to be a kind of exterior living room", the architect Jaroslav Wertig from A69 - Architects company says. Then the using and possibilities of LED panels appeared in exhibitions in the National Gallery in Berlin, in the museum in Bilbao, Spain, in London - some of the installations have remained there. And then the idea to transfer these light artefacts from exhibition halls to public space came ...."
Zbyněk Krulich, architecture and design student cooperating with A69 has great merit of the whole thing being in experimental operation in Cheb. He thinks up the LED panels changes during the day - from the morning optimism over the noon calmness, dynamic evening and romantic night. He plays with various motives of year seasons, such as blinking and movement of fireflies, moving flock of birds, wavy water surface, falling leaves, winter glittering etc. Special animation for Christmas, New Year´s Eve, FIJO festival, Jazz Jam Cheb etc. are already in his offer, and some more are being created.
„I  (and surely not only me) appreciate that architects from the prestige studio A69 Boris Redčenkov, Prokop Tomášek and Jaroslav Wertig residing in Prague but originating from here, chose Cheb for such a premiere" the mayor of Cheb, MUDr. Jan Svoboda  says. „Public lighting in connection with such kind of media - it does not exist in another place. I am delighted at the idea of transfering artistic decoration to the streets"!
